Simon hasn’t got Claire’s email that is cancelling his booking. Due to family illness, the B’n’B is closed for the foreseeable future. He is not to be put off though, as he has a promise to fulfil. Claire reneges and lets him in for the night. In the morning, we meet Maeve who runs the B’n’B, and is Claire’s mum. Claire is helping out after Maeve’s stroke. As time goes on, we learn that all three of them have a secret. Described as a “darkly funny, searing and tender drama”, the protagonists attempt to deal with the cards life has dealt them.
