Sabotage Theatre Company presents:
What All The Rabbits Are Doing
by Zöe Hinks
|
A young woman lies on a cold autopsy table. She is naked and badly beaten. A nervous pathologist grips an envelope, his sweaty hands can make out the bulk of the notes inside. It is payment for his silence.
The prisons are full. The increasing demand for alternatives spawns new and experimental methods of rehabilitation. Raymond, a violent criminal, is assigned to undertake life-drawing classes as part of a government course of therapy. Scientists and snipers observe as his model, Marianna, becomes increasingly convinced she can save his soul.

by Sam Shepard
directed by Calolm MacGregor
|
The tale of two brothers. Austin, a screenwriter and Lee, a rootless alcoholic thief return to their mother's home while she is on vacation; Austin to write his screenplay, Lee to steal from the neighbourhood. During a meeting with his producer Saul Kimmer, Austin is horrified when Lee arrives with stolen goods. Lee invites Kimmer for a round of golf where he pitches his own movie idea. To Austin's dismay Saul wants him to scrap his own screenplay to help Lee write his trashy Western tale. The brothers gradually undergo a role reversal. As Lee becomes a frustrated writer, Austin goes on a stealing spree.
Soon the brothers are quite literally at each other's throats...

Vital Theatre presents:
The Man Who Was Hamlet
|
Strikingly echoing Hamlet, the adventurer, courtier, swordsman and poet Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, led a life of scandal and tragedy.
He killed a servant, abandoned his wife, got his mistress with child, was imprisoned in The Tower, fought the Armada, was maimed in a duel and died bankrupt. Equally envied and admired, his own writing suddenly stopped with the invention of... 'William Shake-speare'.
Now his spirit returns to tell his story!
Award-winning solo performer George Dillon is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist, Charlotte Glasson, and directed by Denise Evans.

It's a Wonderful Life
adapted by Gerry McCrudden
directed by Gerry McCrudden and Mike Stubbs
|
'Each man's life touches so many other lives, and when he isn't around he leaves an awful hole.'
No one is born to be a failure. No one is poor who has friends. Simple thoughts were the inspiration for one of the richest, most uplifting, most beloved films evermade. Now brought to the stage as a 'radio play' of the period.
George Bailey, pillar of his community, a kind man, a man dedicated to the welfare of others. Through the actions of the town's avaricious local banker, Mr Potter, George is driven to the point of suicide. In answer to the prayers of the townsfolk for the missing George, a merciful angel comes to the rescue -- showing George what a sad and sorry place the world would have been without him. George now realises that he has a Wonderful Life.
