About James Newton
James trained as an actor at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama and has an MA in Screen-writing from Sussex University.
Upon leaving drama school, James worked on BBC's Eldorado and in The Cinder Path for ITV. Between 1990 - 1995 James directed and acted in numerous stage plays which toured the UK, before he joined Microsoft to work with their Communications Dept. in Seattle. During this time James travelled the globe with Bill Gates working on presentations and speeches and directed a number of corporate films.
In 2010 James commenced the biggest film project he has ever undertaken - The 154 Project (aka 14 Lines). This is a feature film about Shakespeare's Sonnets which includes each sonnet filmed by a different actor in a different British landmark location. The project is due for completion in 2012 in time for the Olympics and stars some of the greatest names of stage and screen in the UK today.
In 2011 James will direct All My Sons at NVT.
